Robert Tischbein of Hanover, aged 95, has gone home to be with his Lord and Creator after dying peacefully at home of natural causes on Friday, January 29, 2010.
Robert was born on August 7, 1914 in Passaic, NJ. After attending the Stevens School, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, followed by a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As a US Army ROTC graduate, he was subsequently called to serve his country for 5 ½ years during World War II in the Chemical Warfare Service of the US Army. After his honorable discharge at the rank of Major, he was employed as a chemical engineer by several chemical companies.
Robert Tischbein lived a long and fruitful life, faithfully providing for his family. He will be sorely missed by his beloved wife Elfriede; son Peter and family of Alna, ME; son Walter and family of Killingworth, CT; and son Michael and family of Etna, NH. He was extremely proud of his nine grandchildren and enjoyed them all immensely.
A private service is planned for family members. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Missions Fund of The First Baptist Church of Hanover in Etna, PO Box 282, Etna NH 03750.
