Pre-Planning Services

What's really involved in a funeral arrangement? Most families, if asked this question will answer, "They pick up the body and take it to the cemetery."

Nothing could be further from the truth!

A Rand - Wilson Funeral Home Director will sit with you and family members. We will hear what you and your family members are saying.

Impotant questions you need to consider:

  • What is involved in purchasing cemetery property?
  • How important is the location?
  • Do you all want the same kind of funeral?
  • Do you all agree on the same casket?
  • Who will speak?
  • What type of clergy will be appropriate?
  • How will your memory be reflected at the service?
  • Will have a service at all? If not, will there be regrets later?
  • In addition to preparing many documents and obtaining appropriate signatures, arranging for the death certificate to be signed, and notifying Social Security of the death, the funeral director is a liaison among family, clergy, and cemetery staff. If selected wisely, your funeral director will be your family's advisor, helping each member feel comfortable and make sure your wishes are honored.

The best way to accomplish this is through planning a funeral in advance. It is also a thoughtful decision that reduces the stress which so often follows death.

Time is the best reason to prearrange. You now have the time you need to talk things over, ask questions, and make decisions. Personal decisions that cannot be made later.
