Lillian Durfee (Borden) Crawley, 89, died Saturday morning, May 1 at her home in Quail Hollow. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of Charles W. Borden and Merilda (Savard) Borden Lawton.
On August 15, 1942 Lillian married Wesley C. Crawley, in Fall River, where they lived for the next sixty-four years before moving to the Upper Valley in 2006 to be closer to her daughter's family. She enjoyed painting, playing golf, spending the winters in Vero Beach, Florida, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her passion was tracing her geneology and traveling to England with her three daughters to visit the homes of her ancestors.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and Thebodeau Business College, Lillian was employed by the Swansea Print Works for several years and the City of Fall River Planning Board for more than twenty years.
Besides her husband Wesley, she is survived by three daughters, Dayle Slusser and her husband Daryl of Montour Falls, NY, Lynne Mowrey and her husband Richard of Punxsutawney, PA and Jill Graff and her husband Clark of Thetford Center, VT, six grandchildren, Deborah Sealy, David Slusser, Kimberly Basil, Darrick Mowrey, John Graff and Caroline Graff and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Private funeral services will be held at a later date in Fall River, Massachusetts.
